Overall I would rate this movie an A because it delivered all the action you could ask for and it definitely kept the viewer in there seat. If you're someone who enjoys a ton of action and not much talking then I would definitely recommend this movie.
On January 16th the Estancia Varsity soccer team (10-5-2) went up against Calvary Chapel (0-5-1) in a low scoring game that ended 2-0 Estancia taking the win.
The game started off with both teams being very aggressive and having equal amount of times to score on each other. Calvary Chapel had come closer to scoring at certain points in the first half. Bryan Alvarez #14 received a good pass and almost scored on Calvary. Calvary Chapel comes back and tries to score on Estancia. Eric Avonce #4 got tripped up while trying to defend the goal so Calvary gets a corner kick which they end up missing. Marcos Arreola #17 takes the ball and forces Calvary Chapel’s goalkeeper to come out making it easier to score the goal. Towards the end of the first half Estancia has had more control of the ball. Leonardo Martinez #8 said at the end of the first half, “Right now we’re doing good and doing good crosses to the goal, attacking center mids giving through balls to the forwards.” The first half then ended 1-0.
At the start of the second half, Estancia was the more aggressive and constantly defended the ball. Estancia got a free kick and miss their shot. Jessie Mejia #20 missed a long shot that hits the top pole of the goal. Omar Martinez #13 later on got a chance of scoring but ended up missing his shot. Estancia then got a corner kick but Calvary Chapel’s goalkeeper blocked the shot. Miguel Pena #11 got tripped up and therefore lead to a penalty kick and scored the goal. After this last goal Estancia maintained control and the game ends 2-0. Gerardo Leon Camberos #10 said, “Good effort from the team, and good result but there's still some improvement that we need.” The Head Coach Robert Castellano was asked what his thoughts were on the game and he said, “A little frustrating the boys didn't play their full potential and underestimated Calvary Chapel but in the end of the day we won the game.”
On December 17th the Estancia JV soccer team (3-8-1) went up against Oceanview (8-1-3) in a low scoring game resulting in a tie 1-1.
Estancia started off slow in the first half with Ocean View being the more aggressive team, but then Estancia began to advance and become more offensive throughout the game. The opposing team then scored a goal making the score 0-1. One of Estancia’s players junior, Alessandro Madrigal was asked about the teams preparedness, “I think they are a hardworking team, they know how to touch the ball.”
In the second half things got even more intense with Estancia being down a score and profanity being exchanged between teams. Questionable calls were made against Estancia in the form of an offside and the failure to call a penalty kick which could’ve evened up the score.
Estancia had the chance to score on a corner kick but Ocean View with their effort to save the ball scored on themselves. Towards the end of the game tempers and aggression continued when Junior, Addiel Ruiz from Estancia was choked and brought down by one of the defensive players from Ocean View. The scuffle was quickly broken up by teammates. Ruiz said, “The first half our team could have played better, in the second half we picked it up.” The game ended with a score of 1-1. After the game, Estancia’s JV Head Coach Antonio Garcia said, “They could do so much better, they threw away a game. They still have a chance at winning league.”
Halloween, Its been some time since Michael Myers has been on a killing spree. Laurie Strode(Jamie Lee Curtis) and her daughter Karen Strode(Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson(Andi Matichak) try to survive Halloween night in Haddonfield, Illinois with Michael Myers(James Jude Courtney) running around killing people once again. This mystery slasher film really gets the attention of the viewers right away. When John Carpenter’s Halloween theme song plays at the start of the movie you know, Michael Myers is back. After 40 years of being locked up in a mental institution Michael Myers finally escapes and is wanting to get vengeance for being locked up. The actor who played Michael Myers(James Jude Courtney) couldn't have played his role any better. He said “There’s a stealth efficiency to the way an actual trained killer works”. He once lived with a hitman who actually showed him how a killer doesn't waste time killing their victim. Michael Myers goes after the friends of Allyson sort of reminding the viewers how 40 years ago he did the same with Laurie and her friends. Later in the story Laurie Strode is put face to face with Myers and they fight it out until she finally traps him with the help of her daughter Karen and her granddaughter Allyson. Overall, I would rate this movie a B+ because it delivered the suspense and the gore but i feel like towards the end they could've added just a bit more to the struggle between Michael and Strode. If you’re a die hard slasher fan i would recommend you watch it because you’ll definitely enjoy it.
